TIGER'S FORTRESS
Weekend with the King of the Beasts

Tieger
Join us on this special adventure to Ranthambore, presenting a magnificent setting in which to search for Tigers and other wildlife. Set in the Aravalli Hills, the dry deciduous jungles of Ranthambore are dominated by the impressive ruins of a massive 11th century fortress and by Mughal monuments that nestle unobtrusively on the shores of small lakes. Until recently, this famous tiger reserve held up to forty tigers. Although recent poaching has alarmingly reduced this number, we still have good chance of encountering this magnificent animal. We shall also see a wide range of other wildlife here during our two-day stay, including, Marsh Crocodile, Nilgai, Common Langur, Chinkara, Spotted and Samber Deer, and possibly even a Sloth Bear.

Best Time: mid November to mid June
Suggested Time: mid March to mid May; indeed the weather may be a bit scorching at this time of the year, but reduced water holes, shorter grass, and fallen leaves, resulting from the hot and dry weather conditions provide the very best Tiger and mammal watching opportunities.
